Stephanie L. Johnson is an AI strategist and business consultant, owner of The Downtown Business Collective, and founder of AI in the South—a movement dedicated to making artificial intelligence practical, accessible, and useful for small businesses across the Southern region.


Her work focuses on helping entrepreneurs confidently integrate AI into their daily operations in ways that are realistic, ethical, and immediately applicable. Stephanie specializes in bridging the gap between emerging technology and real-world business needs, empowering owners to use AI as a tool for growth, efficiency, and sustainability.


Deeply engaged in local and regional business ecosystems, Stephanie works closely with small business owners, local libraries, chambers of commerce—including the Southern Black Chamber of Commerce—technical college systems, and community stakeholders to support workforce readiness, business growth, and economic development. She is frequently sought out as an advisory resource, helping entrepreneurs think through strategy, systems, and next steps as they scale.


Known for her approachable, “heels-on-the-ground” mentoring style, Stephanie collaborates with community partners to deliver hands-on workshops, trainings, and mentoring programs designed for small businesses and emerging entrepreneurs. Her work meets people where they are, providing clarity, confidence, and practical tools to move forward in an increasingly digital world.
